It’s that time of year again and I can hardly believe it – has it really been an entire year since last Ramadan?
In my defense, since the Islamic lunar calendar year is roughly 11 days shorter than the solar year, Ramadan does actually migrate forward a little each year. I’ve also spent more time up in the air a la George Clooney (love that movie) on back-to-back business trips recently, so coming home to realise that the holy month is right around the corner was slightly disorientating. In any case – ready or not, here it comes, and what better way to welcome its arrival than with delicious, nutrient-dense and compassionate food? I hope this year’s Ramadan-themed recipe round-up inspires you for the month to come.

Thanks for the great recipes and tips, this is my first ramadan as a vegan. I hope you can add more suhoor recipes since its the most one I am confused about. I don’t eat anything gluten or processed so I have no clue on what to eat in at suhoor tasty full.

Hi Nadia, you’re most welcome! I’ll be sure to include more gluten-free suhoor recipes.

Wow – amazing recipes and really helpful for me – I’m a non-muslim mother of two muslim adult children and three little grandkiddies – my kids recently became vegans and I’m gluten free so with all that going on I can now happily cook iftar for my family next Sunday!! Very excited.

Irrestible iftar and suhoor recipe collection. Veg recipes can certainly be a healthy and filling option, also good for weightloss. Thanks for presenting traditional recipes like basbousa with a healthy twist. For those who are concerned about weight gain try out this list in Maggi ME blog – https://bit.ly/2HwbhG0
